Yu-Gi-Oh! Asia Championship 2017 Singapore Summer Qualifier
Held on 14 May 2017, the Asia Championship 2017 Singapore Summer Qualifier saw 90 participants duel for an invitation to represent Singapore in the Asia Championship 2017.
Metagame Breakdown
True Draco was the most popular archetype, with a spread of various different builds. However only 3 out of the 25 made into the Top 16 – 2 Windwitch Spellbook True Draco and 1 Mono True Draco. Surprisingly, none of the Demise True Draco made the cut.
True Draco Zoodiac performed exceedingly well, with 9 out of 18 making into the Top 16. Their Mono Zoodiac counterpart were much lesser represented, but 1 made the cutoff.
2 True King Yang Zing Dinosaur made the Top 16, while none of the True King Dinosaur made the cut.
The last slot was taken by a Reficule Burn deck.
True Draco Zoodiac continued to outperform at the Top 16 – all 3 that were knocked out played mirror matches.
Despite the overwhelming odds against Side Decks packed with Skull Meister and Macro Cosmos, Yong Qian Rui went 10-0 with his True King Yang Zing Dinosaur to win the tournament and earned his invitation to the Asia Championship 2017.

What is the water monster card that the champion uses in side deck? Looks like the new timelord. What did he use if for?
Yes, that’s Zaphion, the Timelord. It’s good against heavy backrow decks like Demise True Draco.
