Tearlaments

Aoi Ui (あおい うい) (YCSJ Nagoya 2020 Champion) went 5-2 (excluding 1 bye) and finished 1st in “2nd Taiyo CS Trio (3v3 Team Tournament)” which had 24 teams (72 participants).

He ran 1 Herald of the Abyss and 1 Change of Heart in the Side Deck as options for Triple Talents Thrust.

Herald of the Abyss is used to remove the opponent’s Expurrely Noir by declaring DARK Fairy. As stated on Herald of the Abyss Q&A (「深淵の宣告者」Q&A), the monster selected by the opponent is sent to the graveyard even if it is unaffected by Spell, making Herald of the Abyss an effective removal against Expurrely Noir with 5 or more Xyz Materials.

The opponent could play around Triple Tactics Talent by activating their Monster Effects such as Maxx “C” during your Draw Phase or Standby Phase. In this case Triple Talents Thrust could fetch Change of Heart instead of Triple Tactics Talent to take control of the opponent’s monster. In the Tearlaments mirror match, Change of Heart could be used to take control of the opponent’s Tearlaments Rulkallos turning their effect on them, and possibly disabling them from using Tearlaments Sulliek if they do not have another Tearlaments monster.

Adamancipator

Zimu (字母) finished 3 – 4th in “Top Deck RC04 Tournament” which had 80 participants.

Superheavy Samurai monsters are Machine-Type, allowing them to be used to Link Summon Qliphort Genius. Then using the Pendulum Scales provide by the Superheavy Samurai monsters, 2 monsters could be Pendulum Summoned to the zones Qliphort Genius card points, triggering its effect to add Therion “King” Regulus from deck to hand. Therion “King” Regulus could be Special Summoned by targeting Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer in the graveyard and then equipping it.

Spell Canceller is another option that could be fetched by Qliphort Genius. Besides being for the Purrely match-up, Spell Canceller also stops the opponent from activating Dark Ruler No More.

Purrely

Keisuke (けーすけ) went 5-2 and finished 3 – 4th in “7th Nonami CS” which had 48 participants.

3 Snoww, Unlight of Dark World and 1 Broww, Huntsman of Dark World in the Main Deck is another option as discard fodder for the effects of the Purrely Quick-Play Spells. In theory the Dark World cards allows the deck to play around Droll & Lock Bird by activating the Purrely Quick-Play Spells during the Draw Phase. But in practice, only Purrely Pretty Memory and Purrely Sleepy Memory could be activated with an empty board. Purrely Happy Memory and Purrely Delicious Memory needs a monster or a card on the field that it can choose before they can be activated.

Volcanic Shell on the other hand provides a way to enable Purrely Happy Memory and Purrely Delicious Memory, while still providing a discard fodder later. Normal Summon Volcanic Shell and use to Link Summon Linkuriboh or Relinquished Anima. Volcanic Shell graveyard effect could then be activated to add another Volcanic Shell from deck to hand. The Linkuriboh or Relinquished Anima on the field would allow Purrely Delicious Memory and Purrely Happy Memory to be activated, and the Volcanic Shell added to hand could be used for the discard.

He is also running 2 Herald of the Abyss in the Side Deck for the Purrely mirror match.

Conclusion

Tearlaments continues to lead while Adamancipator and Purrely trails behind.

I love pendulum, but it’s really suck when i’m not smart enough to pilot the deck.

how can Herald of the Abyss deal with purely, just cant get it

    • GodsCup says:

it targets the player not the monster thats why u can get rid of purrely noir as the player controlling purrely has to send it similar of how evenly matched works in those scenarios purrely side street and my friend purrely wont triggers tho it can be played arround by for example chaining a purrley QP to summon another purrely that fits the effect herald called (its rare since almost never have a extra set card)

Why Labrynth is no longer on the meta?

    • Intiser says:

Purrely xyzs are hard to kill with the traps available in ocg. They dont have karma cannon to deal with purrely. Plus dd crow is getting sided more because pile decks are crazy strong right now because of superheavy sams. Like crow-ing welcome traps hurt labrynth because that is the only card they care in their grave. Pile decks are stronger because grass, snow and chaos ruler isnt ban in ocg, superheavy sam support does help out a lot and also can play through a lot of interrupts. Plus tear is still best deck.

    • Intiser says:

Labrynth is still a good deck, but it has a hard time in a diverse meta because there with Tear being the best deck and different decks require different traps to out play them. And same with side board. I am pretty sure Labrynth will get some upcoming support because how popular it is/was. Like ppl bet post banlist Labrynth will be best deck but only for the crushing reality of seeing how strong tear still is. Plus pile decks 40x better in ocg then they are in TCG. Purrely can practically summon 10 material zeus like nothing. And that much board wipes will give Labrynth a different time to even be relevant.

    2 Code Talker Mathmech top???
I’m curious about the deck list. Where can I find it?

  5. Matheus says:

Anyone know where I can find the Sunavalon Rikka list?

  6. edw says:

herald of the abyss can take out any tower even is unaffceted by everything because herald affected the player not the card.

  7. FlipFlopTear says:

Tear will continue to sweep every event until Konamy kills it like in the TCG
