Strategy

The idea for Gizmek Orochi Zeroboros is spin-off from Gizmek Orochi Da Eiza.

The Gizmek Orochi Da Eiza deck wins by using a huge Gren Maju Da Eiza to One-Punch the opponent. However, Gren Maju Da Eiza is an Effect Monster and could only be drawn from the deck. Having to be in the Main Deck also runs the risk of being banished by Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher and Pot of Desires.

Topologic Zeroboros has a similar effect as Gren Maju Da Eiza that increases its ATK with the number of banished cards. But since it is a Link Monster, it could be easily summoned as long as you can gather enough Link Materials for a Link-4. This could be easily accomplished with Grinder Golem or the Scrap package.

Grinder Golem is currently limited, but it could be added to hand from deck by Dark Spirit’s Mastery.

Discussion

As seen in the three combos above, the deck has multiple ways to bring out Curious, the Lightsworn Dominion to dump Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher into the graveyard, and then go into Topologic Zeroboros.

For Combo 1, you will need another card to rid the opponent’s Grinder Golem, so Mind Control or Instant Fusion for Thousand-Eyes Restrict would easily be game.

For Combo 2, you will need to banish another 3 cards outside of the combo to Special Summon Fairy Tail – Snow. It is likely that you had played a few Spell/Trap cards such as Pot of Desires, Called by the Grave, Crossout Designator, Red Reboot, etc, and you could banish them for Fairy Tail – Snow.

The Gizmek Orochi Zeroboros deck prefers to go second. Kimura Keisuke went second for all 13 rounds of “YCSJ Tokyo 2019”. The Round of 16 Feature Match is a perfect showcase of how this deck wins with Topologic Zeroboros, dealing (3000 + 200×26) = 8200 damage in One-Punch!

Conclusion

Gizmek Orochi Zeroboros is an interesting alternative to Gizmek Orochi Da Eiza.

However, the switch to Topologic Zeroboros does bring about some disadvantage. The deck is now vulnerable to Maxx “C”, Nibiru, the Primal Being and Fantastical Dragon Phantazmay.

Be careful of being tunnel visioned into Topologic Zeroboros. There may be times when bringing out Borrelsword Dragon would be lethal instead.

In the TCG this has become the new strategy for Orcust, summon Zeroboros with IP and otk next turn

    • Karl~ says:

No dude, This combo was created by the OCG; then the TCG copied it.

    • Chaos says:

I’m talking about the strategy of having Zeroboros as the main aggro card in Orcust. TCG doesn’t even have haf lthe cards required

  2. CyberBoy says:

What are you saying, man? He never said TCG created it or something like that

  3. Aetheria Eireneia says:

Can i ask something?, what this deck will do when it’s forced to go first?

    • Chaos says:

IP and link zeroboros in the opponents turn. Banish field and otk next turn

    • Akira says:

Most of the time nothing, sometimes summon Scrap Recycler to send Gizmek Orochi to the graveyard if you have a spare Recycler. As long as the opponent does not OTK, you can break their board on the following turn and go for the kill.

    • Aetheria Eireneia says:

      I got it, thanks!
