Tearlaments

Thrower (スローワ) went 6-2 and finished 3 – 4th in “20th RAM Cup” which had 80 participants.

Black Luster Soldier – Soldier of Chaos could be to be Link Summoned using Kashtira Fenrir or Tearlaments Kashtira, making your opponent cannot target it with card effects, also it cannot be destroyed by your opponent’s card effects. Many players were caught out by Black Luster Soldier – Soldier of Chaos in the initial week as their builds were not prepared for it.

Feri (ふぇーり) (World Championship 2018 Japan Representative) went 6-0-1 and finished 1st in “8th Oz CS in Yokohama 3on” which had 27 teams (81 participants).

Some players have cut out Keldo the Sacred Protector and Mudora the Sword Oracle from the Main Deck, and chose to run Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill instead. Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill main advantage is its ability to be played on your own turn. It could be used to negate the opponent’s Tearlaments Kaleido-Heart, Tearlaments Rulkallos or Predaplant Dragostapelia when they are Special Summoned by Tearlaments monster graveyard effect on your turn, preventing them from disrupting your plays. Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill effect damage also opens up the opportunity to pull off an OTK on the same turn.

More players are also running Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack in the Extra Deck recently. Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack effect could Special Summon 2 “Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens”, which would then make Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. This allows Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack to survive a battle so that it could be used to Xyz Summon Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS – Sky Thunder, which would then be able to take out Black Luster Soldier – Soldier of Chaos.

When going first, the 2 “Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens” Special Summoned from Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack effect are also useful as Link Materials to build an opening board. The first Token would be used with Tearlaments Merrli to Link Summon Spright Elf. Then Spright Elf would Special Summon Tearlaments Merrli which would be used with the second Token to Link Summon Spright Sprind. During the opponent’s turn when another monster is Special Summoned, Spright Sprind could be used as a disruption, by detaching an XYZ material from Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack to bounce 1 monster on the field back to hand.

The latter week saw players running Underworld Goddess of the Closed World in the Extra Deck to clear the opponent’s Black Luster Soldier – Soldier of Chaos and The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister.

Kashtira

rui went 5-2 and finished 5 – 8th in “20th RAM Cup” which had 80 participants.

Number 42: Galaxy Tomahawk in the Extra Deck could be used to Link Summon The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister. Number 42: Galaxy Tomahawk would be Xyz Summon in the Extra Monster Zone and its effect would Special Summon 5 “Battle Eagle Tokens”. Number 42: Galaxy Tomahawk and 4 “Battle Eagle Tokens” would then be used to Link Summon I:P Masquerena (DARK), Link Spider (EARTH) and Security Dragon (LIGHT), then together with the last “Battle Eagle Token” (WIND) they are used to Link Summon The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister.

Conclusion

Tearlaments takes a bigger lead, as Kashtira trails behind.

Some players have been digging deep into ancient cards such as Mushroom Man #2 and Metalmorph for their surprise tech. However these gimmicks did not stand the test of time and their effectiveness immediately drops off when the competitive scene became aware of them.

what they doing with mushroom man 2 lol

    • You give it to your opponent so their field isnt empty -> they cant summon kashtira monsters copium

    • BK says:

Of note, mushroom man 2 is a warrior, which means they can’t link Kashtira Riseheart with it for Donner, Dagger Fur Hire, which is the most common way to clear monsters from their own field.

    • Minh Dương says:

also mushroom man 2’s standby phase effect is mandatory -> u can activate kashtira unicorn to banish FD one ED cards

  2. BK says:

PSA for people wanting to take these ideas into the TCG: There are meaningful differences in the function of Ghost Mourner between ocg and tcg due to the rules on in-hand trigger effects. In the OCG, Ghost Mourner behaves like a quick effect on the summon, allowing it to chain to stuff like Kaleido-heart on summon during your the player’s own turn, but in the TCG you would be required to have Mourner’s teffect trigger at chain link 1, making it effectively useless at stopping those optional on-summon triggers.

What were the labrynth lists like? Did something happen that made them more played this time or was it just luck

    • Joe Biden 4 Konami Prez says:

they were monsters, spells, and traps. wtf do you think they look like? lol?

  6. CoCoA says:

this is a joke at this point, just ban the whole archetype

    • Frank says:

Not a single Yu-Gi-Oh Arctipe has all it’s cards banned. Not Zoo , Not Ruler ,Not Spiral ,Not Nekroz. Unless Konami admits they made a mistake whit the Ishizu package (which they never will)

  7. Ra tear question guy says:

    What is Ra tear?

  8. Lumina says:

  9. Росица Левтерова says:

Tearalaments rule the world at this point. This is so funny. No deck has been the best at the same time in Ocg And Tcg!!

  10. Quan says:
