Tri-Brigade

Chogedokkusu (ちょげどっくす) went 8-1 and finished 2nd in “Adachi CS special in Aichi” which had 151 participants.

Triple Tactics Talent is a strong tech choice in the current metagame, it could be activated against Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess, Ancient Warriors Oath – Double Dragon Lords and Zoodiac Drident. Running 1 Triple Tactics Talent in the Main Deck enables Crossout Designator to negate it.

Tri-Brigade Ferrijit the Barren Blossom and Tri-Brigade Bearbrumm the Rampant Rampager ② effect draws 1 card or adds 1 “Tri-Brigade” Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand via the effect of, then place 1 card from your hand on the bottom of your Deck. This could be used to place single copies of tech cards such as Triple Tactics Talent or Infinite Impernance back into the deck to re-enable Crossout Designator to negate them.

Zoodiac

On Sunday, Ryu (リュウ) went 6-2 and finished 4th in “Asaka CS (Individual Battle)” which had 55 participants. On Tuesday, he went 6-0 (excluding 1 bye) and finished 1st in “181st Oretachi Trading Card Club CS” which had 31 participants.

He ran 1 Aussa the Earth Charmer, Immovable in the Extra Deck as an out against Contact “C”. The popularity of Zoodiac Tri-Brigade and Zoodiac in the current metagame also makes Aussa the Earth Charmer, Immovable useful for Special Summoning a Zoodiac monster from the opponent’s graveyard which could then be used to Xyz Summon your own Zoodiac Xyz Monsters.

Thunder Dragon

Yaba (やば) went 8-0 (excluding 1 bye) and finished 1st in 13th DCS which had 60 participants.

He ran 2 Mind Control in the Main Deck, another tech option in the current metagame as an answer against Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess, Zoodiac Drident, Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS – Sky Thunder.

Mind Control is a more risky play compared to choices like Triple Tactics Talent and Infinite Impermanence since it does nothing when going first, but it is much likelier to resolve successfully as most opponents are only running Triple Tactics Talent and Infinite Impermanence for Crossout Designator.

Virtual World

Hsu Fang-Wei (2nd in YOT Taiwan 2018 Asia Premier) went 9-0 and finished 1st in “24th NTU Cup” which had 122 participants.

PSY-Framegear Gamma is heavily played in the current metagame, with many decks running the full 3 copies in the Main Deck or the Side Deck. In his tournament report ([上位專訪] 2021 台大盃冠軍 By 徐芳緯), he mentioned that he would side out PSY-Framegear Gamma for Triple Tactics Talent if the opponent has seen it in Game 1 and thus is going to play around PSY-Framegear Gamma. However, there are certain match-up such as Shaddoll, Dragonmaid, Virtual World, Eldlich where the opponent is likely to be running PSY-Framegear Gamma, he would keep the PSY-Framegear Gamma in the Main Deck when going first for Crossout Designator.

Conclusion

Tri-Brigade, Zoodiac and Virtual World holds on to their spot from last week leading the front, while Eldlich has been overtaken by Thunder Dragon.

There are two major tournaments to follow in this coming weekend.
