Orcust
Kushima Kamome (久岛鸥) went 7-2 and finished 5 – 8th in “Duel City 2018 Guangzhou” which had 184 participants.
He ran a small Tenyi engine consisting of Tenyi Dragon Vishudda and Warrior Monk of Tenyi.
Tenyi Dragon Vishudda is mainly Special Summoned when he controls no monsters, and then used to Link Summon Warrior Monk of Tenyi. Vishudda’s graveyard effect can then be activated to bounce an opponent’s card back to hand.
This Tenyi engine functions similarly to Instant Fusion and Thousand-Eyes Restrict, but could be used to clear Spell/Trap cards.
An interview with a flowchart of the combo is available here: 【访谈录】天威自奏构筑分享/决斗都市·8强 久岛鸥(老姜)访谈录.
Salamangreat
Sanmaidoo (さんまいどー) went 7-0-1 and finished 2nd in “55th Adachi CS with Hatti CS” (3v3 Team).
He has chosen to go for a more Trap heavy build, cutting out Effect Veiler and Infinite Impermanence, to make space for Solemn Judgment, Solemn Strike, Crackdown and Compulsory Evacuation Device.
Compulsory Evacuation Device in particular was chosen as it could be used against Mystic Mine. Bouncing your own monster to make both players control no monsters would cause Mystic Mine to self-destruct during the End Phase.
Against Salamangreat, Orcust and Thunder Dragon, Compulsory Evacuation Device can be used to bounce Extra Deck Monsters.
Mystic Mine
Mystic Mine has been gaining notoriety as a threat in the competitive scene.
Mystic Mine Burn performed extremely well in “Duelist Cup 2019 Singapore” and “Duelist Cup 2019 Malaysia“.
The deck’s strategy is to stall using Mystic Mine by preventing the opponent from activating Monster Effects or attacking. Ojama Trio ensures that the opponent would always control more monsters.
This would give the deck plenty of time to win using burn cards such as Wave-Motion Cannon, Just Desserts, Secret Barrel.
Chang Yee Khang went 7-2 and finished 2nd in “Duelist Cup 2019 Singapore” which had 73 participants.
Mystic Mine is also seeing play in Sky Striker, running a similar purpose as Kaiser Colosseum.
As Sky Striker would stick to just having 1 monster, Salamangreat and Orcust will have a difficult time swarming the board while under Mystic Mine.
kazuma went 6-0-2 and finished 1st in “55th Adachi CS with Hatti CS” (3v3 Team).
Magical Musket
Magical Musket is showing some potential, finishing 1st in “97th Aichi CS Team Battle in NextPro Osu Shop with Hatti!”, 1st in “Duel City 2018 Guangzhou”, and 5 – 8th in “Duelist Cup 2019 Singapore”.
Magical Musket is in a way similar to Subterror in being largely immune to Maxx “C”, but has the advantage of being resilient against backrow sweeper like Harpie’s Feather Duster and Twin Twisters.
Xiaozhong (小钟) went 10-1 and finished 1st in “Duel City 2018 Guangzhou” which had 184 participants.
Conclusion
Orcust and Salamangreat are the top contenders, with a good assortment of decks showing up in the competitive scene.
The threat of Mystic Mine has players packing more Spell/Trap destruction like Twin Twisters, Heavy Storm Duster and Unending Nightmare in the Side Deck.
The concept of running Compulsory Evacuation Device is trending in Altergeist as well, and has great synergy with Altergeist Multifaker. It played a pivotal role in Altergeist taking down Mystic Mine Burn during the final match of “Duelist Cup 2019 Singapore”.

On the burn list, what is the 3rd from the last card in the maindeck? I’ve been trying to figure it out, but I can’t seem to find it.
The card is called Dark Sacrifice.
