Zefra Mare Mare Combo

As mentioned in OCG 2018.01 Metagame Report #3, Zefra has been siding in Mare Mare to give themselves an explosive turn when going second.

This article will showcase a 2-card combo to clear the opponent’s field and perform an One-Turn-Kill on the same turn.

Any of the following combination works for this combo:

• Armageddon Knight + Oracle of Zefra
• Armageddon Knight + Zefra Providence
• Armageddon Knight + Terraforming
• Reinforcement of the Army + Oracle of Zefra
• Reinforcement of the Army + Zefra Providence
• Reinforcement of the Army + Terraforming

Reinforcement of the Army is for adding Armageddon Knight from Deck to Hand.

Zefra Providence and Terraforming are for adding Oracle of Zefra from Deck to Hand.

1. Normal Summon Armageddon Knight.
2. When Armageddon Knight is successfully summoned, trigger its effect to send Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frisson from Deck to Graveyard.
3. Activate the graveyard effect of Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frisson, halve your LP, target Armageddon Knight, and revive itself from the Graveyard.
4. Using Armageddon Knight + Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frisson, Synchro Summon Yazi, Evil of the Yang Zing.
5. Activate the effect of Yazi, Evil of the Yang Zing, destroy itself and an opponent’s card.
6. When Yazi, Evil of the Yang Zing is destroyed, trigger its effect to Special Summon Mare Mare from Deck.
7. Activate the effect of Mare Mare 3 times, reduce its Level by 3, and Special Summon 3 “Mini Mare Mare Token”.

8. Using Mare Mare + “Mini Mare Mare Token”, Synchro Summon Denglong, First of the Yang Zing.
9. When Denglong, First of the Yang Zing is successfully summoned, trigger its effect to add Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from Deck to Hand.
10. Using Denglong, First of the Yang Zing + “Mini Mare Mare Token”, Link Summon Crystron Halqifibrax in the Left Extra Monster Zone.
11. When Crystron Halqifibrax is successfully summoned, trigger the effects of Crystron Halqifibrax and Denglong, First of the Yang Zing, forming a Chain.
    Chain 2: Resolve Crystron Halqifibrax‘s effect, Special Summon Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing from the Deck.
12. Chain 1: Resolve Denglong, First of the Yang Zing‘s effect, Special Summon Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from the Deck.
13. Using Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing + Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing, Synchro Summon Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing in the 1st Main Monster Zone.
14. When Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing is successfully summoned, trigger its effect to shuffle 2 cards on the field back into the Deck.

15. Activate Oracle of Zefra, add Zefraath from Deck to Hand.
16. Play Zefraath in the Pendulum Zone.
17. Activate the Pendulum Effect of Zefraath, add Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing from Deck to Extra Deck face-up, and change Zefraath‘s Pendulum Scale to 1.
18. Play Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing in the other Pendulum Zone.
19. Using Crystron Halqifibrax + “Mini Mare Mare Token”, Link Summon LANpholinkus in the Right Extra Monster Zone.
20. Pendulum Summon Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing and Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing from the Extra Deck.
21. When Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing is successfully summoned, trigger its effect to add Zefra War from Deck to Hand.

22. Activate Zefra War, destroy Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing in the Pendulum Zone and an opponent’s card.
23. Activate the effect of Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing, destroy Zefraath in the Pendulum Zone, and revive Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing.
24. Using Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing + Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing, Synchro Summon Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing in the 3rd Main Monster Zone.
25. When Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing is successfully summoned, trigger its effect to shuffle 2 cards on the field back into the Deck.
26. Activate the effect of the second Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing, destroy Oracle of Zefra, and revive Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing.
27. Using Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing + Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing, Synchro Summon Hi-Speedroid Chanbara in the 5th Main Monster Zone.

This is a 2-card combo that clears out 6 of the opponent’s cards:

• Yazi, Evil of the Yang Zing destroys 1 card.
• 2 Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing to to shuffle 2 cards each for a total of 4 cards.
• Zefra War to destroy 1 card.

If Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing was sided out, and PSY-Framegear Gamma was played instead, the combo can still be executed, but each Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing would only shuffle 1 card each.

Attacking with LANpholinkus, 2 Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing and twice with Hi-Speedroid Chanbara would do a total damage of:
1200 + 2300 + 2300 + (2000 + 200) + (2200 + 200) = 10400.

The combo revolves around Synchro Summoning Yazi, Evil of the Yang Zing, and then destroying itself to Special Summon Mare Mare.

Other than using Armageddon Knight, Yazi can also be summoned with any non-Tuner that can be Normal Summoned and Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frisson. Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frisson can be sent to the graveyard by Dragon Shrine and Foolish Burial. Thus, making this combo very easily accessible.

Step 1 to 14 is the bread and butter of the combo, and that is a 1-card or 2-card combo to remove 2 to 3 threats from the opponent’s board while building up your own.

Step 15 and onward is flexible and should be played accordingly based on your hand and the opponent’s threats/disruptions.
