Ryzeal

Dimension Shifter is making a return to the Side Deck as we are seeing an increase in decks that relies on the graveyard, namely Blue-Eyes, Atlantean, Snake-Eye, White Forest and Memento.

Retaliating “C” is also seeing a resurgence against Fusion decks, namely against Snake-Eye and White Forest which uses the Azamina package, and Memento.

Uiui (ういうい) went 7-1 (excluding 1 bye) and finished 2nd in “44th RAM Cup Individual Tournament” which had 77 participants.

Maliss

Similarly, Maliss could be seen running Dimension Shifter in the Main Deck.

Dominus Impulse in the Side Deck together with Dimension Shifter are vital against the rest of the decks that are not Ryzeal or Maliss.

Akiyama Mizuki’s Dog (晓山瑞希的狗) went 11-3 and finished 2nd in “China City Tournament 2024 Beijing” which had 487 participants.

Blue-Eyes

Supreme Darkness gave Blue-Eyes a boost in the form of a new Primite card, Primite Another Beryl.

Primite Another Beryl is a Primite card, allowing it to be searched by Primite Lordly Lode. When Primite Another Beryl is Normal Summoned, its ① effect can set 1 “Primite” Spell/Trap from deck, which could be Primite Lordly Lode if you didn’t open with it, or Primite Drillbeam as a disruption during the opponent’s turn. Primite Another Beryl is a Level 4 Dragon monster and that allows it to be used to Link Summon Spirit with Eyes of Blue.

Primite Blue-Eyes plays as a midrange deck. Using Primite Lordly Lode ③ effect comes with a drawback that makes you cannot activate the effects of Special Summoned monsters on the field this turn, but this drawback is minimized as the deck would typically end on Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres or Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon, and both has Quick Effects which could be activated on the opponent’s turn. The Primite cards has raised the floor of the Blue-Eyes deck, as it could end on Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres with a Set Primite Drillbeam when hit by the opponent’s Maxx “C” or Mulcharmy Fuwalos.

rnt66 went 6-1 (excluding 1 bye) and finished 3 – 4th in “44th RAM Cup Individual Tournament” which had 77 participants.

Conclusion

Ryzeal and Maliss continues to be the top 2 decks, but Supreme Darkness came with more surprises than initially anticipated as players discover new strategies.

Primite Blue-Eyes is looking to be a decent contender in the format behind Ryzeal and Maliss, and Atlantean has also made quite a splash in the format.

However, Dimension Shifter is making a return to the format and we will have to see if these decks would still be able to stand up against the counter tech.

Honestly even with Maxx C I love these decklists here, this feels like a really fun metagame. Good mix of general control and combo strategies, and what basically qualifies as “midrange” here. Healthy and lot of viability.

Damn, I wish for Dark Magician to be able to perform this best. Blue-Eyes was meta 8 years ago as well. Meanwhile DM an Red-Eyes are stuck with mediocre to garbage support

It is a lvl 1 light spellcaster normal tuner that turns Primite Lordy Lode into Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon. Situational and imo not worth the brick but still neat
