Rescue-ACE

Buchikaorou (不吃烤肉) went 11-3 and finished 2nd in “China City Tournament Shenzhen II 2023” which had 765 participants.

Super Polymerization is used against the Auroradon build of Rescue-ACE, by using the opponent’s Herald of the Arc Light (LIGHT Fairy) and F.A. Dawn Dragster (LIGHT Machine) to Fusion Summon Mudragon of the Swamp.

To play around Super Polymerization, some players may chose to switch out F.A. Dawn Dragster for a different Synchro Monster. Accel Synchron effect would still send Jet Synchron from deck to graveyard, but would increase its own Level instead. This would allow Accel Synchron and the “Mecha Phantom Beast Token” to be used to Synchro Summon a Level 9 monster such as Virtual World Kyubi – Shenshen or Stellar Wind Wolfrayet.

Tearlaments

Haru (はる) went 7-1 and finished 1st in “GIRAFULL Namba CS” which had 45 participants.

He ran 2 Mathematician in the Main Deck. Similar to Diviner of the Herald effect, Mathematician effect could be used to send Kelbek the Ancient Vanguard or Agido the Ancient Sentinel from deck to the graveyard. But Mathematician effect could also choose to send Level 4 or lower Tearlaments monsters, Fairy Tail – Snow, Jet Synchron or Glow-Up Bulb.

Mathematician compared to Diviner of the Herald lose out on being a Tuner monster so it cannot be used to Synchro Summon Baronne de Fleur, and it cannot send Elder Entity N’tss from the Extra Deck to the graveyard and destroy 1 card.

Purrely

Keiron (けーろん) went 7-1-1 and finished 2nd in “Akisha Cup Vol.12 ~1st Anniversary~” which had 58 participants.

The Main Deck for Purrely seem to be largely solved and optimized. For 5 consecutive weeks, we have multiple players achieving tops with the exact same 40 cards in the Main Deck.

Keiron switched out 1 Triple Tactics Talent for 1 Terraforming in the Main Deck. Opening with Stray Purrely Street is pivotal in the current metagame against Rescue-ACE as most of their disruptions such as Rescue-ACE Preventer, CONTAIN!, EXTINGUISH! and S:P Little Knight are targeting effect.

In the 9 matches that Keiron played in this tournament, he was paired against 6 Rescue-ACE opponents. He won against 4 of them and drew against 1, but lost to the last Rescue-ACE opponent in the final match.

Conclusion

Rescue-ACE, Tearlaments and Purrely continues at the top this week. Rescue-ACE maintained their double tops against the next deck.

    Tears always clears.
The fact that this archetype is still viable is a testament of how good it is.

    • Damjan Dax Mitrovic says:

Its no doubt that Tear’s are one of the strongest cards the game has seen but im starting to believe OCG players just refuse to learn new decks and would just stay with the deck they’ve played for months since it still “does the job” ¯_(ツ)_/¯

chaos ruler being the most broken syncro ever made in a nutshell
