Rescue-ACE
The addition of the Sinful Spoils package consisting of Diabellstar the Black Witch, WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils and Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye provides Rescue-ACE a consistent way to bring out Rescue-ACE Hydrant without using your Normal Summon.
The Auroradon build is one of the more popular variant as the Synchro Monsters provides Rescue-ACE with Spell/Trap negations, protecting their board from being wiped out by Harpie’s Feather Duster or Evenly Matched.
OCG 2023.07 → OCG 2023.10 Limit Regulation changes:
- Rescue-ACE Air Lifter 3 → 2
Rescue-ACE Air Lifter becoming semi-limited is a minor hit to Rescue-ACE. Most players would simply up the count of Diabellstar the Black Witch since Rescue-ACE Hydrant effect could search for Rescue-ACE Air Lifter.
Tearlaments
The Sinful Spoils package is also useful to Tearlaments, by providing a way to Special Summon Jet Synchron, a Level 1 Tuner monster. Jet Synchron with a Level 7 Monsters such as Diabellstar the Black Witch or Tearlaments Kashtira would Synchro Summon Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon, whose effect would excavate the top 5 cards of your deck, potentially setting off a cascade of Ishizu and Tearlaments graveyard effects.
OCG 2023.07 → OCG 2023.10 Limit Regulation changes:
- Agido the Ancient Sentinel 1 → 0
- Kelbek the Ancient Vanguard 1 → 0
- Tearlaments Kastira 3 → 1
- Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon 3 → 0
Agido the Ancient Sentinel, Kelbek the Ancient Vanguard and Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon going to forbidden meant that Tearlaments had lost their ability to send cards from deck to graveyard, effectively shutting down their game plan. The reign of Tearlaments finally comes to an end.
Purrely
Purrely is unable to utilize the Sinful Spoils package, but they did gained some new cards from Age of Overlord in the Extra Deck. Super Starslayer TY-PHON – Sky Crisis and S:P Little Knight provides strong removal options and are generic enough that most decks would be able to run them.
OCG 2023.07 → OCG 2023.10 Limit Regulation changes:
- Purrely Delicious Memory 3 → 2
Another hit to Purrely Quick-Play Spells further reduces their consistency. Having Purrely Delicious Memory reduced to 2 meant that My Friend Purrely would no longer be able to reveal 3 copies to always get Purrely Delicious Memory. This results in making it harder to Special Summon Epurrely Plump which in turns makes it harder to achieve a Expurrely Noir with 5 or more Xyz Materials.
Conclusion
The impact of the Sinful Spoils package is evident in the rising trajectory of Rescue-ACE after Age of Overlord‘s release.
Besides using the Sinful Spoils package for Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye to Special Summon a Level 1 FIRE monster, several decks are also running Diabellstar the Black Witch for Sinful Spoils of Betrayal – Silvera. In this case, the Sinful Spoils package provides a generic negation effect, and this is useful for decks that are weak against Spell/Trap removals.
