Eldlich

Romin-chan Sukosuko Samurai (ロミンちゃんすこすこ侍) went 7-0 and finished 1st in “Mainichi CS 6/21” which had 107 participants.

Eldlich continued to perform exceedingly well, taking 8 1st-place finishes among its 21 top placements.

Most Eldlich ran Gozen Match as their main floodgate tech against the metagame, and opting to complement with Torrential Tribute and Dogmatika Punishment.
Swordsoul could continue their play with an extender if only the Swordsoul monster or the “Swordsoul Token” was destroyed. Torrential Tribute and Dogmatika Punishment shutdown that possibility by destroying both Swordsoul monster and token.

Swordsoul

Ar15 went 6-1 and finished 2nd in “DMC Meta Weekly Tournament #21” which had 112 participants.

Swordsoul is definitely a strong contender in this metagame, but they have difficulty making deep runs in tournaments. Swordsoul would frequently take a big share of the Top 16, but fall off sharply right after. Among its 10 top placements, only 2 were 1st-place finishes.

In a way Swordsoul is the gatekeeper of the format, and their standard Swordsoul Grandmaster – Chixiao and Baronne de Fleur opening is the litmus test.

Shaddoll

trollz14 went 7-0 and finished 1st in “Mainichi CS 6/28” which had 102 participants.

All 9 top placements were using Grass Destiny Invoked Shaddoll, making it the de facto build for this metagame.

Swordsoul Grandmaster – Chixiao is largely ineffective against Shaddoll as the bulk of the plays are from the graveyard effect, and Shaddoll could quickly overwhelm with Shaddoll Fusion, Fusion Destiny and That Grass Looks Greener.

Conclusion

A new Selection Pack Valiant Wings was released on 10 June 2022, debuting Exosister and new Agent fairies, but it had little to no impact on the metagame.

Season 6 marks the start of the Tri-Brigade’s downfall. The top 3 decks Eldlich, Swordsoul and Shaddoll are unfavourable match-ups for Tri-Brigade, and it is only going to get worse when Adventurer are introduced in the next season.
