Prople running Called by the Grave in Superheavy Samurai decks always feel weird to me (not this one because it’s mainly a Grass deck with some SHS cards but I’ve seen people running CBTG in 40-card SHS decks). It’s main purpose is to stop Maxx C but your opponent will use Maxx C once you make your first move, forcing you to chain Called, thus locking yourself out of most SHS monsters’ effect for the remainder of the duel. Is there anything I’m missing?
nope, u are right abt this one
but from my experience, only Bystial SHS variant runs CBTG, & I guess that is bcuz they can still play well using only the Bystial part
other 40-card SHS variants run 0 spell/trap
“Called by the Grave” is not used against “Maxx “C””, but the other ‘hand traps’ such as “Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring”, “Droll & Lock Bird”, “Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit” or “Effect Veiler”. The Superheavy Samurai package mainly has “Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi”, “Superheavy Samurai Bike” and “Superheavy Samurai Wagon” that comes with the “no Spells/Traps in your GY” activation condition and they are the starter cards, so once you have activated their effects you are free to use “Called by the Grave” to protect the rest of your combo.
