Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Asia Playmats 2015

It has been a year since the previous post on official playmats in OCG Asia, and this year saw more events and tournaments giving out playmats as prizes.

This article will cover all official playmats that were distributed in the OCG Asia regions in 2015. The playmats are listed in chronological order by date of distribution.

For the older playmats distributed in the OCG Asia regions:
2010 – 2013 · 2014

 

These playmats were given out to the participants/winners of various Official Store Tournaments that were held in Taiwan.

The respective playmats feature:
Ritual Beast Tamer Zefrawendi and Ritual Beast Tamer Zeframpilica
Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos
Yuto, Sakaki Yuya and Yugo

These full-size playmats are printed in sharp and vibrant colors on a matte surface, a vast improvement compared to the previous Kamishiro Rio playmat that was made in Taiwan too.

 

This playmat was awarded to the Top 8 players of the Carrefour Cup 2015 Taiwan.

Featuring Sillva, Warlord of Dark World and Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World, this full-size playmat is printed in sharp and vibrant colors on a matte surface.

With 8 playmats for the Top 8 players and 1 for the Lucky Draw, there are only 9 copies of this playmat in circulation.

 

This playmat was given for participating in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Open Tournament Singapore 2015.

Featuring Nekroz of Brionac, Nekroz of Trishula and Nekroz of Gungnir, this full-size playmat is printed on a glossy surface. The color is over-saturated, resulting in an undesirable darker tone.

There are about slightly more than 400 copies of this playmat in circulation.

 

This playmat was awarded to the Top 4 players of each region’s Asia Championship Qualifier 2015.

Featuring the background of Harmonic Oscillation, this full-size playmat is printed in sharp and crisp coloring on a glossy surface.

With 12 for Taiwan, 8 for Hong Kong, and 4 each for the other 3 regions, there are only 32 copies of this playmat in circulation.

 

This playmat was given to the invited players of the Asia Championship 2015.

Featuring Xiangke Magician and Xiangsheng Magician, this full-size playmat is printed in sharp and crisp coloring on a glossy surface. There are only 16 copies of this playmat in circulation.

This playmat was awarded to the Top 4 players of the Asia Championship 2015.

Featuring Legendary Knight Timaeus, Legendary Knight Critias, Legendary Knight Hermos and Timaeus the Knight of Destiny, this full-size playmat is printed in sharp and vivid coloring on a glossy surface.

There are only 4 copies of this playmat in circulation.

 

This playmat was given to the participants of the Rank-Up League 2015 Spring Season Tournament.

Featuring El Shaddoll Shekhinaga, Shaddoll Hedgehog, Shaddoll Dragon and Shaddoll Falco, this full-size playmat is printed on a glossy surface. The area around El Shaddoll Shekhinaga is slightly under-saturated, causing El Shaddoll Shekhinaga to look rather blue than purple.

With up to 64 for Taiwan and up to 32 for each of the other 4 regions, there are less than 192 copies of this playmat in circulation.

This playmat was awarded to the Champion of each region’s Rank-Up League 2015 Spring Season Tournament.

This playmat is similar to the one given to the participants, but without the card zones and with an additional “Champion” printed on it. The lack of the card zones made the dark side of the playmat to become duller, and thus demands for a stronger brightness. As a result, this higher contrast adjustment caused El Shaddoll Shekhinaga to look over-compensated with a tint of orange.

With 1 for each of the 5 regions, there are only 5 copies of this playmat in circulation.

 

 

This playmat was given for participating in the tournament pods that were held at Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong 2015.

Featuring Cyber Dragon Nova and Cyber Dragon Infinity, this full-size playmat is printed in sharp and vivid coloring on a glossy surface.

With 6 pods of 8 players for each of the 3 days, there are 144 copies of this playmat in circulation initially.

 

This playmat was given for participating in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Open Tournament Hong Kong 2015.

Featuring Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier, this full-size playmat is printed in sharp and dynamic coloring on a glossy surface.

There are slightly over 200 copies of this playmat in circulation.

 

This playmat was given to judges as compensation for their time and effort in helping out in various OCG Asia Tournaments between 2015 to 2016.

Featuring Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning and Chaos Emperor Dragon – Envoy of the End, this full-size playmat is printed in crisp and dynamic coloring on a glossy surface.

 

This playmat was given to the participants of the Rank-Up League 2015 Summer Season Tournament.

Featuring El Shaddoll Construct and El Shaddoll Grysta, this full-size playmat is printed in sharp and strong coloring on a glossy surface.

With up to 64 for Taiwan and up to 32 for each of the other 4 regions, there are less than 192 copies of this playmat in circulation.

This playmat was given for participating in the tournament pods that were held at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2015.

Featuring Kurosaki Shun (Shay Obsidian) and Raidraptor – Satellite Cannon Falcon, this full-size playmat is printed in sharp and vivid coloring on a glossy surface.

With 6 pods of 8 players for each of the 3 days, and the Legendary Pack promotion, there are more than 150 copies of this playmat in circulation initially.

 

This playmat was awarded to the Top 4 players of each region’s Asia Championship SP Qualifier 2015.

Featuring Dante, Pilgrim of the Burning Abyss, Beatrice, the Eternal Lady and Virgil, Rock Star of the Burning Abyss, this full-size playmat is printed in clear and bright coloring on a glossy surface.

Having Beatrice in the background with a splash of white and blue is a perfect depiction of Paradiso (Heaven), the final chapter of Dante’s Divine Comedy. This is also reflected in the enlightened form of Dante. And of course, Dante wouldn’t have made it without Virgil – his trusty guide in Inferno (Hell) and Purgatorio (Purgatory).

With 8 each for Taiwan and Hong Kong, and 4 each for the other 3 regions, there are only 28 copies of this playmat in circulation.
