Tearlaments

Benson Lu (3 – 4th in Duelist Cup 2022 China Mainland, 1st in CCT Nanning 2021) went 10-1-1 (including 1 bye) and finished 1st in “1st Frontier Cup” which had 328 participants.

Lai Yan Jun went 10-1-1 and finished 2nd in “1st Frontier Cup” which had 328 participants.

Both players were running the exactly same deck build, perhaps signifying that this is the best optimized Tearlaments build for the current metagame. This deck build is also similar to Raito (ライト) build featured last week, but cutting 1 Triple Tactics Thrust and 1 Red Reboot for 1 Droll & Lock Bird and 1 Infinite Impermanence in the Side Deck.

Purrely

Ninomae (ニノマエ) went 7-1 and finished 1st in “2nd Oguibento CS Individual Tournament in Tokai” which had 43 participants.

Running 1 I:P Masquerena and 1 Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess in the Extra Deck is slowly being picked up by many Purrely builds.

Kigremo wrote on his article ピュアリィ考える【デッキ解説】【遊戯王】 that I:P Masquerena was originally included as a generic Link Monster that could be Link Summoned using the Contact “C” given by the opponent. Aussa the Earth Charmer, Immovable is an alternative Link Monster that fulfils the same purpose of Linking away Contact “C”.

I:P Masquerena provides the option to go into Sky Striker Ace – Azalea or Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess during the opponent’s turn. If the opponent activated Xyz Encore to bounce your Purrely Xyz Monster, then the Xyz Materials that were Special Summoned could be used with I:P Masquerena to Link Summon a bigger Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess.

Bystial

shinra went 7-1 and finished 1st in “1st Tulio CS @ Nabe 3v3 Team Tournament” which had 24 teams (72 participants).

shinra has changed his Spright Bystial build, cutting out Ready Fusion from the Main Deck, and replacing them with Cyberse Gadget.

Cyberse Gadget effect could be used to Special Summon a Level 2 monster from the graveyard. Cyberse Gadget could be used to Special Summon a Level 2 Tuner monster and then use to Synchro Summon Coral Dragon. Cyberse Gadget effect would Special Summon 1 “Gadget Token”, and together with Coral Dragon they could then be used to Synchro Summon Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon or Accel Synchro Stardust Dragon.

Alternatively Cyberse Gadget could be used to Link Summon Linguriboh, which would provide a negation against opponent’s Trap cards such as Infinite Impermanence. Cyberse Gadget effect would Special Summon 1 “Gadget Token”. As Token Monsters are Normal Monsters and “Gadget Token” is Level 2, this allows Ringowurm the Hundred Apple Dragon and Spright Blue to Special Summon themselves from hand, and then Synchro Summon Cupid Pitch or Link Summon Spright Sprind.

Cyberse Gadget is a LIGHT monster and could be added to hand when excavated by Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon, and could also be banished from the graveyard for Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon graveyard effect.

Conclusion

Tearlaments leads on while Purrely and Bystial follows behind.
