adidas Originals × Yu-Gi-Oh! Adi2000

adidas Originals Flagship store Harajuku is currently having an “adidas Originals × Yu-Gi-Oh! Adi2000” special exhibition from 19 – 31 January 2023.

Walking down the stairs of the adidas store in Harajuku, you would be greeted by a showcase of all OCG Series 1 cards.

Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Meteor Black Dragon and Firewing Pegasus are the rarest cards on display. The original OCG prints were the very first tournament prizes given out to the winners of a Yu-Gi-Oh! major tournament, “Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters II: Dark Duel Stories Duelist Legend in Tokyo Dome”.

1st Place received one of each Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Meteor Black Dragon and Firewing Pegasus.
2nd Place received one of each Meteor Black Dragon and Firewing Pegasus.
3rd Place received Firewing Pegasus.
Winners of the OCG division and the Game Boy division each received a set of the above prizes.

As such, there are only 2 copies of Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, 4 copies of Meteor Black Dragon and 6 copies of Firewing Pegasus original OCG prints in circulation. The copies on display are likely extra copies that Konami had been safekeeping, and were previously showcased in “Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions 4.23 Roadshow” and “10000 Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Cards Exhibition”.

After the cards showcase would be the Dark Magician photo booth. This Dark Magician is the adidas special version with the adidas logo embossed in the card text box.

Finally in the display case are a pair of the adidas Originals × Yu-Gi-Oh! Adi2000 sneaker, a Dark Magician adidas special version TCG card, an Exodia the Forbidden One hangtag, and an assortment of Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG cards as the backdrop.
